The ERP Solution Specialist will support the Council’s ERP software, currently the Technology One suite of products across MCC, supporting council’s business units to achieve outcomes in line with organisational and departmental strategies, objectives, vision and values.

The position will assist in ensuring the consistent use and ongoing development of Council’s systems within Technology One’s, Enterprise Resource Planning Product. This will include reviewing existing practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and working with staff across the organisation to realise benefits from the system.





Responsible for working with the business to analyse business requirements, provide technical expertise and produce specifications for any new / change to technology applications. Continually grow knowledge of supported technology and products for a clear understanding of current and future technology requirements of the business.

Work with training team to document system scenarios, identify roles impacted and help develop a change management training plan.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  1. Work with Business unit/s and Business Partners to understand IT and Business Strategy, and their implication to platform / technology / application under their responsibility, in line with council policy, procedures and relevant legislation.
  2. Identify, assess, and document business requirements, recommending business priorities and advising business on options, risks and costs versus benefits of various solutions to key stakeholders.
  3. Implements computer system requirements by defining and analysing system problems; mapping business and system processes, designing and testing standards and solutions. Analysing impact of proposed solution changes or inclusions on existing technology platforms.
  4. Serve as liaison between Solutions Team and business end-users.
  5. Prioritise and manage development and implementation of enhancements / changes.
  6. Provide input to the development of formal business cases, when applicable.
  7. Develop use cases to explain / demonstrate business requirements / specifications to key stakeholders.
  8. Assist testing team to ensure that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test plans and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed. Work with test team to develop system integration test scripts and ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations.
  9. Facilitate implementation of functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation.
  10. Provide input into project / resource estimating activities.
  11. Serve as technical / functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regards to the capabilities / functionality of the specific software package/s / tool/s.
  12. Analyse ERP processes, map and document.
  13. Positively contribute to the Solutions Team, its culture, goals and objectives.
  14.
